CPI to accelerate to 5.9% in October

Ecostat sees twelve-month consumer price inflation picking up to 5.9% in October on the back of a VAT increase set for July, the research arm of Hungary's Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in its latest Mikroszkóp publication.

Ecostat projects producer prices will rise 5.6% in October from the same month a year earlier.

Industrial output is set to fall 11.6% in October, as domestic sales slip 6% and export sales plunge 14.1%.

Retail sales are seen dropping 3% in October.

Gross wages will inch up 2% as private sector wages increase 4.3% but public sector wages slide 3.5%. (MTI – Econews)
