Consumer Protection Authority levies HUF 23m in fines in 2010

Hungary's National Consumer Protection Authority (NFH) levied fines of HUF 23 million in 426 cases last year, the authority said in a monthly newsletter.

Most of the cases involved products sold after their sell-by dates and warranties that were not respected, NFH said. The authority also found many cases in which businesses did not respond appropriately to customer complaints.
