Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with the Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi on Sunday to discuss ways to deepen bilateral relations between their countries.
China-Hungary relations have been developing steadily, with a mutually beneficial cooperation, while coordination deepened constantly in the recent years on all fields, Yand commented
Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will visit Europe soon, and China would like to work with Hungary in order further expand cooperation and open a new chapter in bilateral relations, Yang explained. He added that China would continue to encourage Chinese businesses, tourists and student to invest, travel and study in Hungary.
China hopes that Hungary, which currently holds the rotating EU presidency, will continue to play a positive role in pushing the EU to oppose trade protectionism and recognize China's full market economy status so as to promote the continual development of China-EU relations, Yang said.
Martonyi said that Hungary remains committed to developing relations with China based on mutual respect and trust. He added that Hungary welcomes investments from Chinese enterprises and would like to expand cooperation with China in fields such as culture, tourism, education.
