Carless households continue to fall in Hungary

The percentage of carless households in Hungary dropped to 55% in 2010 from 58% in 2008, the Hungarian unit of German engineering company Bosch reported on Sunday, citing data from the Median Public Opinion and Market Research Institute.

Car ownership in Hungary underwent particularly growth among young people, those living in major cities not including Budapest and the lower middle classes between the years 2008 and 2010, the survey carried out in January 2010 shows.

The percentage of Hungarian car owners who fix their own cars dropped but it is still close to 10%. (MTI-ECONEWS)
