The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index opened Tuesday trade up 0.31% at 22,856.88. BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Tuesday's opening bell:
OTP Bank was up 1.01% at HUF 5,980;
Magyar Telekom was up 0.19% at HUF 536;
Oil and gas company MOL was up 0.09% at HUF 23,170;
Drug company Richter was down 0.40% at HUF 35,750.
On Monday, the BUX closed down 1.18% to 22,786.92 on a light turnover of HUF 6billion.
András Somi of KBC Securities commented that overnight gains at bourses in Asia and a rise in futures indices suggest that the BUX will open the Budapest Stock Exchange's Tuesday session higher, noting that the publication of the Standard & Poor's Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, Chicago May PMI and Conference Board consumer-confidence data in the United States at 3:00 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., Central European Time, respectively, could exercise an impact on the course of trade at the BSE.
