The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index opened Tuesday trade up 0.14% at 23,647.37.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Tuesday's opening bell: OTP Bank was up 0.22% at HUF 6,265;
Oil and gas company MOL was up 0.15% at HUF 23,335;
Magyar Telekom was unchanged at HUF 559;
Drug company Richter did not report at Tuesday's opening bell.
On Monday, the BUX closed down 0.41% to 23,614.21 on a turnover of HUF 12 billion.
Tamás Gerőcs of Concorde Securities and Balázs Sőre of Buda-Cash Brokerage both predicted that BSE investors would idle in a wait-and-see mode on Tuesday as they seek to orient themselves amid the current market conditions. Gerocs noted that BSE drug companies Richter and Egis will soon publish their quarterly earnings reports, the latter company following the close of markets on Tuesday. Sore remarked that stock markets have been weathering the resurgent euro-zone debt tempest well.
