The Budapest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BUX index opened Thursday trade down 0.92% at 23,084.95.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Thursday's opening bell:
OTP Bank was down 2.30% at HUF 5,950;
Oil and gas company MOL was down 1.40% at HUF 23,510;
Drug company Richter was down 0.55% at HUF 35,950;
Magyar Telekom was down 0.18% at HUF 542.
On Wednesday, the BUX was down 0.33% to 23,298.34 on a turnover of HUF 8.82billion.
Gergely Gabler of Erste Investments predicted that the BUX would open Thursday trade lower after disappointing U.S. employment and manufacturing data dropped the value of shares traded on Wall Street to their largest single-session loss in over nine months on Wednesday. Gabler added, however, that the BSE blue-chip index would likely make a gradual recovery during the remainder of the exchange's Thursday session.
