Budapest's fourth metro line, which is currently under construction, is expected to be completed a year late due to a new delay to tunnel drilling, the project's manager said on Thursday.
The consortium responsible for drilling the tunnels has said that instead of the original plan to finish construction up to Baross tér within 22 weeks it would now take 50 weeks, said Gusztáv Klados, the project director of DBR Metro.
The latest timetable had called for the testing period to start in the last quarter of 2011. This is now likely to happen in the autumn of 2012, said Klados.
The metro line was originally to have been completed at the end of 2009 when it was started in the spring of 2007. (MTI-Econews)
