Budapest public transportation company BKV has received the first shipment of Belgian Van Hool buses. The company said that during the summer months 31 second-hand vehicles will be shipped to Hungary which will be introduced to standard traffic from autumn.
The buses, bought for HUF 20 million each may be put to regular use once they have been formally domesticated and certain upgrades, such as the installation of air conditioning devices and bigger windows is completed, BKV said.
The buses are originally painted yellow and it has not been decided whether BKV would commission a paint job so that they may become the blue common to buses in the city. (Gazdasági Rádió)
