Bill establishing new subsidy system affecting district heating submitted to Parliament

National Development Minister Tamas Fellegi submitted to Parliament on Friday a bill that would establish a new subsidy system for cogeneration plants that supply district heating, the National Development Ministry said.

The bill aims to keep retails district heating prices stable while offering incentives to district heating suppliers to get their heat from cogeneration plants, the ministry said.

Fellegi submitted the bill for urgent debate so it can come into force from October 1, at the same time as an agreement on centrally regulated district heating prices becomes effective.
