Hungarian farmers are two to three weeks behind schedule this growing season because of bad weather, state secretary for agriculture matters György Czerván told MTI on Tuesday. Standing water covers about 212,000 hectares of land in Hungary, including 101,000 hectares of farmland, Czerván said. Bad weather has cut crop land planted last autumn by about 9,000 hectares to 1,647,000 hectares.
