Antenna Hungaria will spend HUF 25 billion (€89.92 million) on building digital networks and a further HUF 2.5 billion – HUF 3 billion on communications related to the digital switchover, the business daily Világgazdaság said on Monday citing company CEO Jean-Francois Fenech.
In spite of initial glitches, the digitalization process of ground television-broadcasting is progressing as scheduled, the CEO said. Fenech added that currently only 6% of households in Hungary are equipped to receive digital ground-television broadcasts.
The digital switchover scheduled for the end of 2011 will have a major impact on the 800,000-900,000 households currently receiving analogous ground television-broadcasts. (MTI-Econews)
