Output of Hungary's industrial sector was down 1.7% in September from the same month a year earlier according to unadjusted figures, as domestic sales fell 4.3% and export sales roe 1.2%, data published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Friday show. The figures are unchanged from a first reading on September 7. Adjusted for the number of workdays, industrial output declined 3.8% in October after edging up 0.6% in September. Not only domestic sales fell more steeply, by 6.2% yr/yr, but export sales also dropped, by 1.1%, yr/yr after some rise in the previous two months. Output slipped 3.8% month-on-month, according to seasonally- and workday-adjusted data. Domestic sales fell a seasonally- and workday-adjusted 4.2% in the steepest monthly decline since March. They have been steadily contracting since May. Export sales were down an adjusted 1.4% after dropping just 0.1% a month in September and rising 1.1% in August. Exports has risen month-on-month in four of the first ten months.
