Grant winners have returned about HUF 5.6 billion in European Union funding in northern Hungary because they were unable to come up with the co-financing for their investments, chairman of the North Hungary Regional Development Council Zsolt Becso said at a press conference.
Funding was returned for business, tourism and other investments, Becso said. The only area in which funding was not returned was public transportation, he added.
About 11% of funding allocated for EU-supported developments in Nógrád county was recalled, he said. (MTI – Econews)
