About one-third of the owners of farm land covered by a flood of sludge in Hungary's worst industrial disaster have decided to sell their land to the state, the Ministry of Rural Development told MTI on Thursday.
Government commissioner Csaba Szabó said 102 of the 298 owners of farm land affected by the sludge made declarations by the deadline to offer their land to the state.
About 200 hectares of farm land was affected by the flood which took place on October 4, 2010, after a reservoir at an alumina plant burst. (MTI Econews)
