No dioxin-tainted food, feed delivered to Hungary from Germany

Feed and food from Germany tainted with dioxin has not arrived in Hungary, according to the European Union's Rapid Alert System for Feed and Food (RASFF), the Hungarian Food Safety Office (Mebih) said on its website.

Mebih said feed base mixed with vegetable oil contaminated with dioxin was sold by a German company only to feed mixers in Germany. German food safety authorities have found just two instances of deliveries of animals or animal products fed with the feed delivered outside of Germany, both in the Netherlands and both involving eggs, Mebih said.
