Budapest city council could scrap or scale down some projects

Budapest's local council could stop or scale down several big investment projects to stabilise the city's financial position, business daily Világgazdaság reported on Monday, citing a draft of the city budget.

Among the projects that could be scrapped are public transportation investments along three of the city's main traffic arteries, the paper said. The city could shorten the fourth underground line, which is under construction at present, eliminating four stops. (MTI-ECONEWS)
