“Bad tenant” portal launches in Hungary

According to founder Péter Szabó Bencze, Hungarian law largely favors tenants over landlords, putting them at a disadvantage in which they are unable to recover losses they may suffer. As he told the daily Népszabadság, it is still a common phenomenon when tenants refuse to pay rent, but they still cannot be evicted, or in other cases, when they simply disappear without payment.

The site, rosszberlo.hu is expected to give landlords pointers about unreliable prospective tenants thereby minimizing or actually preventing the damages that may occur, Bencze said. (BBJ)
