Zwack wins 10 medals at World Spirits Festival

Zwack Unicum, Hungary's most famous spirit maker, has been awarded five gold and five silver medals at the World Spirits Festival in Klagenfurt, Austria, press officer Péter Kerényi told MTI on Saturday.

Forty-five distillers and distributors from 16 countries participated at the festival with 250 products in various categories. 

Zwack Unicum, awarded the title "First-Class Distillery", participated with 13 products, of which ten won awards at the festival. Zwack Unicum reported declining revenue, but healthy profits from its core activities in the first nine months of its business year, ending March 31. The sale of a Ft 452 million property in Budapest boosted pre-tax profits 35.14% from the same period a year earlier to Ft 3.587 billion. Excluding the effect of the property sale, pre-tax profits rose 18.1% to Ft 3.135bn during the period. Gross revenue fell 3.5% to Ft 22.017 billion. Zwack projects pre-tax profit of Ft 3.3billion-3.35billion for its entire business year, calculating with expected losses of Ft 230m in Q4.
