Low-cost airline Wizz Air said that it expects 1 million passengers at Budapest's Ferihegy airport this year, 30% more than in 2008.
Wizz Air CEO József Váradi said the airline expects a total 7.5 million passengers, compared to the 5.9% in 2008. Váradi said Wizz Air covers 45.6% of the low-cost market in Hungary, 60% in Bulgaria and 93.4% in the Ukraine. Váradi added that Wizz Air became the market leader in every country in which the company began operating within a period of 3-4 years.
Wizz Air recently ordered 50 AirBus aircraft, bringing the number of orders to 132. Váradi said Wizz Air expects to complete half of its 20%-30% growth plan in new markets, including the Balkan region, Russia and Turkey. (MTI - Econews)
