Mobile operator Vodafone Hungary has teamed up with Huawei Technologies to accelerate the development of Vodafone Hungary’s broadband mobile data network.
Vodafone Hungary aims to increase the availability of its 3G broadband (HSDPA) network, adding hotspots in Budapest before rolling out the service to other major cities. In November 2005 Vodafone signed a global framework agreement with Huawei Technologies for mobile network infrastructure.
The agreement established the terms and conditions for the supply of Huawei’s solutions to any one of the Vodafone operating companies worldwide. Vodafone Group invested 4.2 billion worldwide in capital expenditure during the year. The company says it has now achieved the core level of 3G and HSDPA coverage across its European networks necessary for the wider uptake of high speed data services. (tradingmarkets)
