Vodafone axes jobs in Germany, moves part of operations to Romania

Vodafone will cut 500 jobs in Germany, and move a part of its operations to Romania and India, according to Bloomberg. The information appeared in an internal letter sent by Jens Schulte-Bockum, CEO of Vodafone’s German unit, who mentioned that part of Vodafone’s main regional operations will be transferred to Romania while information-technology operations will be transferred to India. In February, Vodafone reached an agreement to cut 620 jobs in Spain, says Bloomberg. This is the result of the group’s intention to adjusts to harsher competition and lower fees in Europe’s largest economy, Reuters wrote.
