Vodafone appoints CEO of Hungarian unit to head Turkish acquisition

Attila Vitai, the head of Vodafone's unit in Hungary, has been appointed CEO of Turkey's Telsim, which Vodafone acquired at the end of 2006, Vodafone announced on Monday.

Vodafone agreed to pay $ 4.55 billion for Telsim, Turkey's number two mobile operator, in December 2005.
Vitai will take his new position after the acquisition is closed. He will remain the head of the Hungarian unit, which he has headed since 2000, until his successor is named, the announcement said.
