Videoton reports revenue rise in 2005

Electronics manufacturer Videoton Holding Rt's unconsolidated net profits rose 10% to Ft 4.3 billion in 2005, and revenue increased 5% to Ft 72 billion, after stagnating for years, the company announced. According to the report, revenue rose as a result of Hungary's EU entry.  

Videoton laid off 300 workers at its unit in Bulgaria in 2005, but hired another 500 at its operations in Hungary, increasing the company's total number of employees by 200 to 9,100. In 2006, Videoton expects to match last year's revenue.
