Turkey processor Gallicoop's revenue climbed 1pc to HUF 16.9 billion in January-August from the same period a year earlier even as output of the sector declined more than 6%, the company told MTI.
Gallicoop sold 14,600 tons of turkey meat in January-August, 11% more than in the same period a year earlier.
Gallicoop expects to produce 37,000 tons of turkey meat in 2010 to give it 48% domestic market share. Exports, mainly to Austria, the UK, The Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia, account for 35% of revenue. The company wants to boost exports to Russia from 250 tons in 2009 to 1,400 tons in 2010. (MTI – Econews)
