TriGranit to revive WestEnd 2 project

Hungarian real estate group TriGranit, Central Europe's largest property developer, plans to revive its WestEnd 2 project, which it put on hold indefinitely a few years back because of the global financial crisis, real estate and investment website Ingatlan és Befektetés reported.

TriGranit will build a new 300,000-sqm complex on the north side of the WestEnd shopping mall in downtown Budapest as part of the development.

The project has been in the pipeline for a decade and construction was poised to begin in 2006, but TriGranit was eventually forced to shelve the project in 2008 with the onset of the global financial crisis.

In addition to WestEnd 2, TriGranit plans to press ahead with its Emonika City Center project in Ljubljana, Slovenia, this year.
