Travel conditions improved markedly at Budapest’s Ferihegy International Airport on Thursday, the second day of a strike by the airport’s unions. By 11:00am, 23 of 28 scheduled flights had taken off, and departures were delayed just 5-10 minutes.
Domokos Szollár, spokesman for airport operator Budapest Airport, said passengers are not waiting any longer than half an hour to pass through security gates. The gates are only operating at Terminal 2B, he added. Budapest Airport asks all passengers flying on Thursday to arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure. (MTI-Eco)
