Hungary's Public Procurement Arbitration Council has invalidated the top two bids in the Miskolc municipal tram-tender concluded on March 25, the regional daily Észak-Magyarország reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper said that the council on May 21 annulled the winning bid from Italy's AnsaldoBreda due to problems with the company's stipulated delivery deadline as well as that of Spanish second-place bidder CAF due to an irregularity with the company's bank guarantee.
Észak-Magyarország reported that only valid bid submitted in the tender was that of the Czech Republic's Skoda, though this bid was €4 million higher than AnsaldoBreda's.
Miskolc is therefore planning to reissue the tender for trams to run on the city's expanded and renovated tram network, the newspaper said. (MTI-Econews)
