Prize winners were acknowledged by the Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize on Friday in Parliament. From the 35 applications, seven got the Grand Prize itself while six others were awarded for their special performances.
The committee considered applications by their novelty, social usefulness and the extra results or revenues achieved by the products.
Winners of the 2009 prize include the Paks nuclear power plant and the increase of 8% of its three reactors’ performance; Ganz Engineering és Energetikai Gépgyártó Kft for a domestic mechanical novelty. An environment protection award went to FUX Ipari Szolgáltató és Kereskedelmi Zrt. Innovation prize of the agricultural sector went to IKR Termelésfejlesztési és Kereskedelmi Zrt for environmental friendly drier appliances. Among technological innovations, Richter Gedeon’s Portiron product portfolio was awarded, and Teva Gyógyszergyár Zrt also got an award for its generic agent. (BBJ Online)
