The Hungarian unit of Tetra Pak, the big Swedish maker of aseptic packaging for food and drinks, targets a 3% revenue rise in 2006, CEO of Tetra Pak Ausztria-Magyarország Wolfgang Niestroj announced on Friday.
Tetra Pak Magyarország had revenue of €28.1 million (Ft 7.4 billion) in 2005, slightly less than in the previous year.
The merger of Tetra Pak Magyarország and Tetra Pak Austria, started last autumn, will be completed this year, Niestroj said. The company's Austrian and Hungarian sales teams will continue to operate independently, but a Hungarian-Austrian management team has taken over coordination of Tetra Pak's entire operation and the company's accounting will be placed under one roof.
Tetra Pak Magyarország aims to make 2.8 billion packages in 2006, 1 billion more than in 2005, by better utilizing its capacities. The company controls 59% of Hungary's market for aseptic food packaging, according to the company's own estimate.
