The Hungarian unit of UK supermarket chain Tesco will cut back its gas consumption by 15%-20% - the equivalent used by the residents of a mid-size city - until normal supply is resumed, Tesco-Global Áruházak told MTI.
Tesco is lowering the temperature in stores and using alternative electric heaters.
Tesco said it had stocked more than 10,000 electric heaters and oil radiators in its stores.
Restrictions on gas consumption by some big consumers were introduced on Wednesday, a day after gas deliveries from Ukraine were halted. The restrictions were lifted on all but the biggest consumers on Thursday. (MTI – Econews)
