Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Monday appointed State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó to serve as government commissioner for development of Hungary's economic relations with Russia and China. Szijjártó was also appointed chairman of the Hungarian-Russian and Hungarian-Chinese mixed committees. Newly appointed National Bank of Hungary Chairman György Matolcsy previously filled these roles in his capacity as national economy minister.
