Székesfehérvár wins HUF 1.8 billion for city centre renovation

The city of Székesfehérvár (NW Hungary) has won HUF 1.8 billion in EU funding for a HUF 2.4 billion renovation of its old town, Central Transdanubia Regional Development Council chairman Béla Pál said on Wednesday.

The project will involve the completion of the renovation of the city's landmark Hiemer House, the repaving of the main street in the city centre and the installation of ornamental lighting for some monuments.

The county has so far won HUF 5.8 billion in EU funding for projects worth a combined HUF 9 billion, Pál said. (MTI-ECONEWS)
