Despite the severe Hungarian vehicle market situation, Suzuki managed to keep its number one position in 2009 with 8.112 registered units in the field of passenger cars, according to Datahouse. Suzuki has been maintaining its pole position in the Hungarian market for 13 consecutive years. With the cumulative market share of 13.48% in respect of passenger cars, Suzuki has again topped its competitors in 2009.
Even though the Hungarian passenger car market showed a terrible downfall of more than 60% in 2009, customers still seem to favor Suzuki vehicles most, as illustrated clearly by the sales of the brand with a total of 8.112 registered units throughout 2009. Out of them the most popular models were the ones produced at the Esztergom factory of Magyar Suzuki Corporation (MSC) and sold on the domestic market: 2.209 Splash, 3.084 SX4 and 2.480 Swift cars. In addition to the MSC made models, Japanese import cars were also registered in Hungary and contributed with 339 units to the total Suzuki sales, including Grand Vitara and Jimny models.
Due to the loyalty of customers who consider ‘Suzuki-Our car’ in fact as ‘their car’, also proven by the sales figures of 2009, the brand has successfully managed to maintain its market leading position for 13 consecutive years.
All Swift, SX4 and Splash models sold in Hungary rolled off the production lines of Magyar Suzuki Corporation(with the exception of imported SX4 sedan models), the company which produced more than 180,000 units in 2009 for the domestic and European markets.
