Survey shows half of Hungarians have internet access

About half of Hungarians older than 14 years have access to the internet at home, at school, or in other public places such as internet cafes, a survey by market researcher GKIeNET conducted in the summer reveals.

The survey, conducted with the cooperation of T-Home and T-Mobile, two brands of Magyar Telekom, showed almost 4.2 million Hungarians have internet access of one form or the other although 16% of them has not used the web.

GKIeNET found that 3.1 million Hungarians over the age of 14 used the internet at least one hour a week, making Hungary's real internet penetration rate 36%. (MTI – Econews)
