Strabag SE, an Austrian construction company with operations in Central and Eastern Europe, picked Hungary to build its first cement factory, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported.
Strabag will build the Ft 33 billion plant near Királyegyháza in south Hungary, József Kővári, the managing director of Nostra Cement Kft, which will build and operate the factory, told the paper.
Construction will probably start in September and the plant will begin operating at the end of 2009. It will reach its full capacity of 850,000 tons in early 2010. Strabag's factory will employ 100 people.
