MÁV-START, the passenger unit of state-owned Hungarian railway company MÁV, said it signed a contract with Stadler to keep up and clean 30 Flirt suburban trains it bought from the Swiss rolling stock maker.
Stadler won the 30-year contract in a negotiated public procurement procedure. Stadler already has a contract to clean and perform maintenance work on 30 other Flirt trains, the first part of a 30+30 order from MÁV.
One of the conditions of the contract is that 94% of the trains must be kept on the tracks during maintenance and cleaning. (MTI – Econews)
