Switzerland’s Stadler Rail Group has established a maintenance and repair base, with an investment of €9.6 million to perform maintenance operations on the company’s newly introduced Flirt trains.
The plant in Pusztaszabolcs (Central Hungary, about 40 km to Budapest), was reconstructed from an old railway maintenance hall in less than three months and was opened on Friday. Stadler Rail Group will employ about 100 people in the plant. MÁV Zrt ordered 30 Flirt trains from Stadler last year, of which four have been put into service so far and 2-3 trains will arrive each month until March next year. (Gazdasági Rádió, Magyar Hirlap)
