Spring frost damages Hungary fruit crop

As much as 40-50% of some types of Hungarian fruit may have been destroyed by spring frost, Béla Mártonffy, who heads fruit-growers association FruitVeB, told MTI on Tuesday.

Mártonffy said 25-30% of last year's crop was destroyed by spring frost. He added that this year's spring frost, unlike last year', affected the entire area of the country.

Apricots, peaches, cherries and plums were the hardest hit by this year's spring frost, he added.
