Specsavers to open optical-lens plant in Hungary

British optical-retailer Specsavers will open a lens plant in Hungary by the end of this year, Specsavers informed MTI.

Specsavers' Hungarian unit, Szatmár Optika, will manufacture contact- and spectacle-lenses at the 14,000-square-meter production hall in Mátészalka, employing 179 people at the plant.

Specsavers spent several billion forints to build the plant, the company's first production facility in eastern Europe. (MTI – Econews)
