Supermarket chain Spar plans this year to renovate 70 of the 174 Plus units it took over in Hungary in 2008, Spar Magyarország told MTI.
Last year Spar renovated 15 of the units.
The renovations will cost several hundred million forints, Spar Magyarország communications director Zsuzsa Laber said, without revealing an exact figure.
Spar Magyarország's consolidated revenue jumped 31.5% to HUF 374.2 billion in 2008 with the acquisition of the Plus units, but the company expects growth to continue in 2009, too, Spar Magyarország managing director Péter Feiner said earlier. The company's market share climbed from 10% to 14% in 2008. (MTI – Econews)
