Sanoma Budapest decided to sell the publishing rights for business weekly Figyelő, Üzlet és Siker, Top 200, the Figyelő Trend series and Figyelő conferences, business daily Napi Gazdaság reports.
Selling Figyelő and other publications has been rumored for a while on the media market, but decision from the part fo the publisher has not been made since. Now it decided for the sales regardless of the fact that Figyelő is one of its most prestigious brand. The weekly performed well even in crisis times, conserving or even improving on the number of issues. According to Matesz, a quarterly 12,000-13,000 was sold of the weekly.
Sanoma would like to sell the publications in the form of an invitation tender, expected to close in Q2 2011. The decision was made because Sanoma Budapest would like to concentrate on the creation and acquisition of higher profit activities to ensure sustainable operation for the long term, the publisher said.
