Sales of one-week motorway vignettes jump after four-day sticker phased out

Sales of one-week motorway vignettes jumped in the first month and a half of 2012 after that the four-day stickers were phased out on January 1, business daily Napi Gazdaság said on Tuesday, citing data from the State Motorway Manager.

Sales of one-week vignettes reached 736,000 between January 1 and February 15, up from 102,000 in the same period a year earlier, the paper said. Revenue from sales of the weekly vignettes reached up to HUF 2.2 billion, well over the HUF 1.8 billion that was generated by sales of both weekly and four-day stickers in the same period a year earlier.

About 950,000 of four-day vignettes were sold on average during the period in previous years.
