Runner-up on Hungary meat market to shut down plant

Debreceni Csoport Húsipari (DCSH), Hungary's second-biggest meat company, is shutting down its plant in Debrecen (E Hungary) and moving the capacity to other plants, daily Népszabadság said on Friday, citing an announcement by DSCH.

The move is intended to boost efficiency, DSCH said.

DSCH has four more plants around the country, but Econews reported earlier that it is to shut down one of them, in Mosonmagyaróvár, acquired with its recent purchase of Kaiser Food, in May.

The company was acquired by Slovakian investment company Penta in 2008.
