Two budget airlines have announced an expansion to their presence in Romania - something that could prove to be of interest to overseas property investors in the country.
The availability of budget airline routes has been heralded as a positive factor for overseas property markets and now Wizz Air and easyJet have announced an expansion to their services. Firstly, easyJet has opened a new route running between its hub at Milan Malpensa and Bucharest Baneasa Airport, starting from September. Meanwhile, Wizz Air has announced the installation of an operational base thanks to the booming demand for flights to Romania.
József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, remarked: „The enthusiasm of passengers in Romania for our service offering of young aircraft flying to attractive destinations at consistently low fares has encouraged us to dedicate an aircraft and open an operational base in Romania.” He added that the decision reflects the company's „significant growth plans” for the Romanian market.
Earlier this month, Wizz Air announced new flights running from London Luton to Tirgu Mures, in addition to a Liverpool-Bucharest service. (ready2invest.co.uk)
