Richter-Teva contraceptive receives final approval

Hungarian drug company Richter confirmed on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange Monday that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given final approval for a new emergency contraceptive, Plan B One-Step, which Richter has developed and manufactured in finished dosage form in partnership with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.

Teva has the exclusive rights to market and distribute the product in North America.

The emergency contraceptive product, which contains 1.5 mg levonorgestrel, has already been launched in several markets including Hungary, the CIS republics and many of the European Union member states. (MTI-ECONEWS)
