Retail chains fined for offenses involving suppliers

Hungary's Agriculture Administrative Office (MgSzH) on Wednesday said it fined five retail chains a combined HUF 345m for unfair business practices involving suppliers.

The office fined French-owned Auchan Magyarország and Hungarian-owned Reál Élelmiszer, both supermarket chains, for failing to pay suppliers on time.

It fined German-owned household products chain Rossmann Kereskedelmi for the same offense as well as for charging fees for services the company is prohibited from delivering.

MgSzH fined UK-owned supermarket chain Tesco and German-owned peer Aldi Magyarország for pricing products under cost.
