Spain's Renovalia Energy on Tuesday said it started operating a EUR 27m wind park in Babolna (NW Hungary).
The 15 MW wind farm brings Renovalia's total renewable energy generating capacity in Hungary to 26.3MW. The new park can generate an annual 33 GWh of electricity or enough to supply power to 14,000 homes, while reducing CO2 emissions by 19,800 tonnes.
The park has six 2 MW turbines and one 3 MW turbine.
OTP Bank supplied a EUR 16m loan fro the project.
Hungary had 203 MW of wind farm capacity at the end of June, up from 176 MW a year earlier. Volume of power generated at the farms rose more than 47pc to 230.3 GWh. (MTI-Econews)
