Reál Hungária Élemiszer, a chain set up by Hungarian-owned shops and supermarkets five years ago, expects to close 2005 with revenue of Ft 280 billion, 17% more than a year earlier, Reál Hungária CEO Tibor Kujbus said yesterday. Among its members, Reál Hungária includes 1,700 smaller shops under 100 square meters and 560 larger shops between 200 and 400 square meters. Eight former members of the Csemege group joined the chain last week, Kujbus said. Since starting up in 2000 with just 80-90 units and combined turnover of under Ft 90 billion, Reál Hungária has become Hungary's fifth-biggest chain of supermarkets.
