Mikhail Rahimkulov, a former OAO Gazprom executive, remained Hungary's richest man for the second year running with a fortune worth Ft 153 billion ($713 million), according to a list compiled by Népszabadság.
He is trailed by Sándor Demján, a real estate developer and owner of TriGránit Zrt, who is worth an estimated Ft 80 billion, and by OTP Bank Nyrt Chairman and CEO Sándor Csányi, worth Ft 55 billion, the newspaper said.
Rahimkulov, whose fortune was Ft 80 billion last year, owns ÁÉB Bank Zrt. He is of Russian descent and has lived in Hungary since 1994. Together with his sons, he bought a 5.3% stake in OTP last month. His previous investments include broadcaster Antenna Hungária Zrt, tile maker Zalakerámia Zrt and chemicals company BorsodChem Nyrt.
